La Compagnie des Six-Associés came into being in 2000 when six young interveners from Quebec City’s tourism circle decided to set up an original concept consisting of historical walking tours. Legend has it that they were six associates only for an evening, giving them just enough time to create the company.

Heir to the Company of One Hundred Associates that worked on the colonization and economic development of New France from 1627 to 1663, La Compagnie des Six-Associés, for its part, has been developing various ways to take a different look at Quebec City.

Lynda Simard, Philippe Hamel and Stéphane Roy, history and tourism professionals, are the company’s three promoters. From Skate and Ski, their very first tour, to Killers & Beggars, the original tour of Quebec City's 2nd prison (brought to you by LE MUSEE NATIONAL DES BEAUX-ARTS DU QUEBEC), over five years have gone by during which the company kept growing and setting itself apart in the cultural tourism sector.

In 2005, the company experiences a new birth. Taking exactly where the founders were taking it, Luc Nicole-Labrie, a History professionnal and guide with the company for a number of years, decides to continue on with the company and buys Les Services Historiques Six-Associes (a legal name change coming with the Incorporation). He brings with him the same spirit and same goals as the original team which is to help visitors of Quebec City to discover a new side of its History, through original tours encompassing the most realistic and unaltered vision of the city's rich social history.

With many different and unusual thematic tours, a fair number of conferences and historical workshops, Les Six-Associes is still sharing its passion for history.
